Book Report

When Harry Meets SCARYThis review is about the new Harry Potter book when this was written was The Chamber of Secrets.  It talks about how Harry is entering a knew chapater and playing Quidditch and how he is entering Hogwarts again. It also talks about the movies and books get darker as the progress through. Finally it says how the second movie special effects could have been better.

 Syriana
The review talks about how this is probably one of the best movies about oil trade. It is also hard to follow but the review says the movie isn't meant to be easy to follow. The plot is so complex we aren't suppose to follow it we are suppos to surround it. Also that the characters aren't really aware of the plot so why should the people who watch it be involved as well.

 Watchman
The person who reviewed this movie strongly disliked the film.  He thought the movie was very long and dragged on.  He believed there was to many characters which made it hard to focus on one main story line.  He was very harsh on the way the characters appeared on screen. One of his comments was "Last and hugest is Dr. Manhattan (Billy Crudup), who is buff, buck naked, and blue, like a porn star left overnight in a meat locker."  This brutal statement really captures his thought on the movie and the dirctor itself, from this line you can tell he strongly hated this movie.

On Turning Ten

What is Collins trying to say with this poem?
He is trying to say that there comes and age when you have to give up childish things.
How does he capture childhood and the process of growing up?
Collins shows how the things that bring us happiness seem to disappear and not seem as special anymore.  He also shows how children feel invinsible growing up and nothing could harm  them.
What makes this poem effective?
The way he goes through each year of his life and all the different things this kid wanted to be or thought he could do makes you see how much different children and adults are from eachother.  What also makes it effective is how the child thinks that when you turn 10 you have to forget all the childish things you enjoy and leave them behind.
how does this fit into your own life experience?
This fits into my own life and because there is a point in life were you start to leave behind the childish things and gaining more responsibilities and becoming more of and adult. You are leaving childhood and entering adulthood.

Beauty/Evil/Denial

BEAUTY
In this one my definition would be that there is only one kind of beauty and you can only achieve that kind of beauty with Dove products. There is only a certain kind of beauty and you need a certain hair type to get it and need to be in your underwear to show your true and natural beauty by only creating it with these products.

DENIAL
Denial has two types of meanings and one of the meanings was twisted into another meaning somewhere along the line. If your in denial about somethings you need a 12 step recovery plan to get you out of denial.

EVIL
A lot of people associate evil with George W. Bush, and evil has different levels and evil came from the Book of Jobs. With the tiniest about of evil the happiest person can feel the evil inside and make a turn for the worse. And how people act upon evil.

Definition Essay/Spring Break

1.Yes there are some areas I would have done, like giving the different types of yankees and they are similar to what I would define.
2.The allusions add a more understanding of the definition and I didn't get some of the allusions but I understood most of them and the ones I didn't get was fine because I got the understanding of it.
3.I do think the author delt with what a Yankee is not too much he should of spent more time with saying what a Yankee is.
4.Yankee might be one of the first genuine American characters to disappear.

Spring Break
My spring break I spent in Ohio with my brother most of the time. I looked for prom dresses, which I couldn't find. I got frozen yogurt a lot with my brother. I got my first job at Dairy Queen and work some days. I went shopping for new clothes. Worked on things for my grad party and played outside with my 5 year old brother. I took my 14 year old brother and his friend tee peeing which was fun. I say American Reunion with my boyfriend, and I spent Sunday(Easter) with my family and just hungout all day with them. All in all my break was pretty good.

A Modest Proposal

1.The purpose of him saying this about selling kids and what not is to show extreme things have gotten and what things have came too.
2.I have reckoned upon a medium that a child just born will weigh 12 pounds, and in a solar year, if tolerably nursed, increaseth to 28 pounds.
I do therefore humbly offer it to public consideration that of the hundred and twenty thousand children already computed, twenty thousand may be reserved for breed, whereof only one-fourth part to be males;
3.A little bit before paragraph 10
4. The rulers are too blame not the Irish
5.He never offers or gives any suggestions for changing the purposal
6.To verify on where he stands on selling babies and that he does not have kids but he does have an opinion about this topic.
7. I just think the whole thing was funny because why in the world would you sell babies?Like common it's funny cause I haven't read a story like this before.
8.If i was given the job of selling babies I don't think I could do it since I want to work with babies. And i don''t think I would call them something French because if I did sell babies I wouldn't want them to be unreginizable cause I would want my people to know what they have done.

Why I want a Wife?

1. It's saying what the wives should do but Brady doesn't believe this is how wives should act, be treated or to be doing all the time.
2.. I think she repeats it so many times so she can get it through the readers mind in what she wants and to make it a point that this is what this satire is about.
3.I think this spouse exists if she was crazy but otherwise no I don't think it exists. I think she wrote this to show what a wife should do and what her duties are as a wife and they should always but the husband first.
4.Brady organizes it by what the wife should be doing and how they should act and what wives should be doing during this time period. I think what Brady writes about wives is a stereotype of how they should be and how they should act. I think she wants her readers to respond kind of annoyed of how she characterizes wives.
5.Dear Brady
I admire how you say that he wants a wife with kids, to take care of you and the kids, to cook and to organize things cause guys normally are bad at those sort off things. I don't agree with how the wife is suppose to do everything even work while you go back to school. You should support your wife like she is supporting you. Sexual attention when you don't want it? I think it goes both ways, if your wife doesn't want she shouldn’t have to like you don’t want too. Finally, with replacing your wife whenever you feel like it is rude., you shouldn't be getting a new life whenever you want since there is kids involved.

Sincerely
Taylor
